As reported previously, the 11ß-hydroxylase inhibitor [ C]metomidate, as well as [18F]FDG, may be used for imaging of adrenal masses [1-4]. The positron emission tomography images presented here were acquired in a 50- year-old patient with metastatic adrenocortical carcinoma. Only some of the known metastases show [18F]FDG uptake (right: image obtained 40 min after administration of 370 MBq [18F]FDG), whereas intense accumulation of [11C]metomidate is seen (left: image obtained 20 min after administration of 300 MBq [ C]metomidate).
